The Holiday Season has Officially Kicked Off

On Tuesday, December 3, Pepper Place kicked off the holiday season with a bang with our annual Holiday Open House. From 5-8pm the Creative District overflowed with festive events, including a photo booth bus, live music, and wine tastings – just to name a few. The night was all about celebrating local – and it was echoed throughout The Place. Aero Joe hosted a performance on their Aerial Yoga and Pilates equipment that left us in awe. Ferguson brought in Homewood Gourmet for some of our favorite holiday snacks. Music filled Pepper Place thanks to Vann Burchfield, a saxophonist who has played in the White House four times! And our friends at Design Supply and Cantley & Company made sure to host some of the city’s best pop-ups, including Dixie Designs, Julie Mae Seele, Lindsey Porter and Bijou.

This year, the inaugural window decorating competition was also introduced. Knowing the creativity that flows from Pepper Place, every business was encouraged to create a holiday window that would capture people’s attention, embody their creativity, and invoke some festive cheer. To determine the best office and best retail/restaurant windows, we enrolled a group of judges to discern the winners:

EMCEE: Carlyle Thornton, Blogger and Influencer

After evaluating all of the windows, the judges tallied the numbers to determine that Yellowhammer Print Shop was this year’s Best Retail Window and Go Pro Event Solutions won the Best Office Window. To keep things spicy, we also added the People’s Choice Award, which was awarded to The Collective!

If you missed seeing the holiday windows on December 3, it’s not too late! The creative windows will be on display throughout the holidays, giving you something to look at as you check shopping for all your loved ones off your list. Be sure to reference our Holiday Gift Guide if you need some suggestions!
