Pepper Place’s newest and highly anticipated tenant is opening its doors on June 19th. B3, a project from Chef Dean Robb and Chef James “Huck” Huckaby, will be Birmingham’s newest Southern brasserie—a dining experience that promises to blend a casual atmosphere with high-end cuisine made with quality ingredients.

As Robb and Huckaby tell the Alabama NewsCenter, this is a project a decade in the making. After getting their culinary starts under renowned Chef Frank Stitt. “Robb hired the then-inexperienced but enthusiastic Huckaby when Robb was managing partner at Bottega. Huckaby then moved down the street to Stitt’s flagship Highlands Bar & Grill, and then helped Stitt open Chez Fonfon before leaving for other opportunities.”

After careers that spanned the South, Huckaby and Robb have come together to create what they call a “perfect marriage” of a menu with exciting offerings from a BLT tortellini with oven roasted tomatoes, bacon, wild watercress and garlic to duck and dumplings with locally grown mushrooms, spring Vidalia petals and charred carrots.

We’re so excited to have B3 as part of the Pepper Place family. Be sure to stop by and see it for yourself, located between Hop City and Frontera on 3rd Avenue South.
