THE 2026 GUIDE TO
GIFTING & GATHERING
Open Up to Wonder this Holiday Season
at Pepper Place
A LETTER FROM Cathy Sloss Jones
One of the things I love most about Pepper Place is that it is always evolving.
What began with the restoration of one historic building has grown, one idea and one relationship at a time, into a creative district shaped by the people and businesses who call it home.
This year, that story has continued. We welcomed new neighbors, including SOIRÉE, The Harrington Pub, The Capital Collective and Matey Brands, whose creativity brought a fresh brand identity to Pepper Place and the Farmers Market. We celebrated LillieKat Rugs opening a new storefront and watched Odette Collective expand its family-run business. Just in time for the holidays, Little Red Print Shop has popped up in the historic Dr Pepper building. It’s impossible to leave the print shop without a smile!
Growth at Pepper Place has never been about getting bigger. It’s about creating a place to support independent businesses, bring people together and contribute to a city where people want to live, work, play and visit!
That spirit comes alive every Saturday at the Farmers Market at Pepper Place, where farmers, makers and neighbors have gathered for more than 25 years. It’s also reflected in the Southbound Food Festival, celebrating Birmingham’s incredible food culture, and in special gatherings like this year’s Antiques at the Gardens kickoff event, which brought the Botanical Gardens community together in the heart of our design district. We’re already looking forward to welcoming the Birmingham Museum of Art for something very special next year.
Being part of Birmingham’s culture and celebrating what makes our city special means so much to us!
And that’s what makes this gift guide so meaningful to me. The pages that follow are filled with beautiful things, certainly, but behind each one are the talented people and businesses who have chosen to make Pepper Place their home. Supporting them is what makes our creative community thrive.
I am so grateful for everyone who has played a part in the story of Pepper Place. We cannot wait to share what comes next.
Happy Holidays!
