O'Kafés owners Kirk Summers and Erin Isbell are no strangers to Pepper Place; For the past three years the pair have been selling specialty-grade organically grown coffee at the Saturday Farmers' Market. Today, what began as a wholesale coffee roasting business in Tuscaloosa is now Pepper Place's newest coffee shop, boasting Fair Trade coffee, signature lattes, and rustic charm. O'Kafés is TransFairUSA certified, which not only guarantees the highest quality coffee on the market, but also ensures that farmers and their families receive fair wages and benefits. Located in Pepper Place's Martin Biscuit Building, O'Kafés displays artist Amy Peterson's vivid oil paintings and often hosts local and regional musicians. They also sell t-shirts, coffee by the pound, and light lunch items, including Greek spanakopita and tyropita.
